The program spans 10 weeks and is entirely online, making it accessible no matter where you're based. What struck me immediately was that it's completely free and tailored specifically to the needs of Black women entrepreneurs. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach; it's a curriculum designed with our unique challenges and opportunities in mind.
But the learning doesn't stop at your computer screen. One of the highlights of the program is the in-person component at Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York City. And here's the kicker – it's all expenses paid. This removed any financial barriers that might have prevented me from participating and allowed me to fully immerse myself in the experience.
One of the most valuable aspects of the program is the network you build. I found myself surrounded by a community of brilliant, driven Black women entrepreneurs from various industries. The connections I've made have already led to collaborations, shared insights, and a support system that extends far beyond the program's duration.
What's truly special is that I've been able to keep up with my growth group even after the program ended. We've maintained our connections, and I'm happy to say that I've made some genuine friends along the way. This ongoing support and camaraderie have been invaluable in my entrepreneurial journey.
A standout feature of the Black In Business Program is the access to strategic advisors. These industry experts provided personalized guidance, helping me identify growth opportunities and overcome obstacles in my business. Their insights have been invaluable in shaping my long-term strategy and giving me the confidence to take my business to the next level.
Participating in this program has been transformative. I've gained concrete skills in areas like financial management, marketing strategy, and leadership. More importantly, I've developed a new perspective on what's possible for my business and for Black women entrepreneurs as a whole.
The in-person experience in NYC was particularly impactful. Walking into the Goldman Sachs headquarters, I felt a sense of belonging and empowerment. It reinforced the idea that we, as Black women, have a place at the table in the highest echelons of the business world.
I'll be honest – keeping up with the curriculum was challenging at times. The program is intensive and demands a significant time commitment. However, pushing through those challenges was worth it. Now, as I move forward with my business, I feel much better prepared to face the obstacles and opportunities that lie ahead. The program has given me a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that I can build upon.
